Money can be stressful and can affect your mental health as well as your finances. Worrying about bills, debt, or everyday costs can lead to anxiety, low mood, or feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes, poor mental health can also make managing money harder.
Money advice offers practical support to help people feel more in control of their finances and reduce stress. This support can include budgeting and managing bills, debt and repayments, links to check benefits and income, guidance to access the right financial services, and information to help build confidence with money.
At Adferiad, Mental Health and Money Advice provide friendly, non-judgemental support and guidance. We support people by helping them understand their finances, create simple and realistic budgets, manage debts and speak with creditors, access benefits or other financial support, and reduce financial stress to improve wellbeing.
Our goal is to help people feel more confident about managing money while also supporting their mental health and overall wellbeing. Our Mental Health and Money Advice service provides online advice and guidance on money matters as well as mental health care for individuals across Wales (as well as across the UK through our network of Mental Health UK partners). Additionally, we also offer specific money advice and support for unpaid carers who are based in Gwent.
