About

We facilitate several projects which provide opportunities for people who have used mental health and substance use services and their families and carers to give feedback on their experiences and, through co-production, inform future provisions.

Caniad

Caniad is a community support project based in North Wales. Commissioned by the Area Planning Board and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Caniad was launched by Adferiad in 2015. The primary focus of Caniad is to encourage communication between service providers and service users, offering a platform for providers to seek guidance on how best to improve their facilities. By working co-productively with service users and carers, Caniad ensures their voices are heard, playing a pivotal role in driving positive change across various areas, including health, employment, and community services.

Service User & Carer Participation (SUCPO)

The Service User and Care Participation Service is dedicated to supporting transformative change within the mental health service across the Swansea area. The service empowers individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges to actively participate in shaping the future of mental health services. Built on the belief that those who have experienced mental health services firsthand, or in a care-giving capacity, possess invaluable insights that can drive service improvements from the ground up, the service provides a welcoming and accessible space where individuals can share their experiences and contribute to the ongoing development, design, and delivery of mental health services.
