What we do
This service provides support to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan with mental health issues. The service aims to help service users set their goals and progress in areas of life such as confidence and self-esteem, emotional and mental wellbeing, substance use, physical health, housing, communication, education and training, money, cultural and religious needs, family and parenting relationships, and jobs and volunteering. This service also works to raise awareness of issues surrounding Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic people's mental health and to help reduce descrimination.
Who we support
This service supports Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people aged 18 and over living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan with mental health issues.
How we do it
We take a holistic approach, use solution-focused methods that promote recovery, empowerment, and independent living in the community. We provide community support, information and advice, befriending and volunteering opportunities, signposting for individuals, as well as for family members and carers.
Referral
People can self-refer to access this service. We, also, accept referrals from voluntary and community organisations, housing support workers, social services, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), GP surgeries and health professionals, probation services, and refugee and asylum seeker organisations.
