What we do:
Flintshire Sorted Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Team supports people across Flintshire to reduce the impact of alcohol and substance use on their lives, families, and communities.
Who we support:
Flintshire Sorted supports young people up to the age of 25 in Flintshire who may be affected by alcohol or substance use, including those at risk of harm or experiencing related challenges at home, school, or in the community.
How we do it:
Flintshire Sorted provides a comprehensive service assessing individual needs and supporting young people at risk of developing harmful behaviours.
The service operates a three-tier model:
Tier 1 – Prevention: Works with secondary school pupils to raise awareness of drug and alcohol risks through lessons, assemblies, outreach, and support for parents and professionals.
Tier 2 – Early Intervention (Targeted): Provides tailored, needs-led support to at-risk young people to reduce substance use or offending, using positive activities and lifestyle support.
Tier 3 – Therapeutic: Referral-based intensive 1:1 support for young people affected by substance use, including motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and relapse prevention, with no fixed time limit.
Referral:
Referrals can be made by young people themselves, parents or carers, schools, or partner agencies. Young people aged 13 and over can usually consent to referrals themselves unless there are safeguarding concerns. Referrals can be made by phone, email, or by completing a referral form.
