The one and only MICHAEL SHEEN announced as Adferiad Recovery’s Patron!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the wonderful Michael Sheen – yes, Michael Sheen! – is Adferiad Recovery’s new Patron. In his role Michael will champion our cause and highlight our work across Wales.

On 1st April 2021 four Welsh charities – Adferiad Recovery, CAIS, Hafal and WCADA – merged to become Adferiad Recovery, a new organisation which will provide support for vulnerable people in Wales and their families and carers. Adferiad Recovery will have a particular focus on people with mental health problems, substance misuse problems, and those with co-occurring and complex needs. Read more here.

Michael told us: “The times we are in are challenging in so many ways and all of us are having to adapt in order to move forward. I’m so happy to be Patron of the newly formed Adferiad Recovery as they bring together multiple sources of support and experience to meet the challenges that lie ahead. Well done to all involved and special thanks to the team at Allen & Overy LLP whose pro-bono support has been invaluable.”

Alun Thomas, Adferiad Recovery’s Chief Executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have a Welsh icon as our Patron and truly grateful for his time and support.

“Adferiad Recovery provides vital services to some of the most vulnerable people in Wales. By becoming our Patron Michael will help us shine a spotlight not only on the important work we deliver across all the 22 counties but also on the many issues facing our client group which need urgent attention.

“A big DIOLCH YN FAWR, Michael, from all our clients, Members, volunteers and staff!”
